October 2, 2015September 6, 2023 Former Graduate Students (reverse chronological order) Marwa Tawfiq, Visiting PhD Student 2023 from Scotland (Aberdeen) and Egypt, studying microbiomes and gene expression in farmed salmon Pamela Friedemann, Visiting PhD student from Brazil 2022-2023 studying diet variation in Alaskan stickleback Dr. Christopher Peterson. PhD 2023. Christopher used simulations, analytical models, meta-analyses and bioinformatics to study the effects of genetic variance on ecological processes like invasion. Will Shim Animal Care & Experimental Infections, 2012-2015, PhD 2022. Will studied population genetics of Schistocephalus solidus tapeworms in stickleback. Dr. Sebastian Stockmaier. I am a behavioral ecologist with a background in immunology and infectious disease biology. I am broadly interested in how host behaviors affect pathogen transmission between members of the same species (and different species) and how pathogens affect host social behaviors. I am a german transplant to the US and if I am not chasing vampire bats through the tropical rain forest, I enjoy hiking, camping, paddle boarding, and spending time with our two dogs Lexi and Jetta. Currently a postdoc at the Center for Disease Ecology at the University of Georgia. WEBSITE And check out her STEM Fatale podcast!
